The New RIIS
The ROPME Integrated Information System (RIIS) is a web-based platform for storing, organising and sharing information about the RSA and ROPME technical data. It was originally designed with 4 modules however, with the advent of emerging challenges facing the global environment particularly the RSA, ROPME has added additional modules to accommodate new data on the latest studies and activities in the RSA.
The new ROPME portal is a transformation from a predominantly spatial application to a more friendly interface of informative maps, graphs, tables, images and texts that could generate more interest on the RSA and cater to a wider audience of non-scientific users. On the other hand, the core historical scientific data which ROPME accumulated through the years will be made available to institutional partners, experts and scientists for the analyses of the RSA’s marine environment in the past and in the future.
The new portal is now on the public domain and data tables are currently being populated.
