Dr. Mohammad Al-Ahmad

Dr. Mohammad Al-Ahmad was appointed in March 2024 as the Executive Secretary of the Regional Organization for the Protection of the Marine Environment (ROPME). Since his appointment, Dr. Al-Ahmad has actively spearheaded the development of ROPME Strategic Directions for the period 2026-2030. In his current role, he leads a distinguished team of experts dedicated to formulating strategic action plans, programs, and projects aimed at strengthening and elevating ROPME’s impact on marine conservation and environmental protection at national, regional, and international levels.
Alongside his responsibilities at ROPME, Dr. Al-Ahmad has also served as Chairman of the Public Authority for Agriculture and Fishery Resources in the State of Kuwait since 2021. His extensive leadership experience includes previous roles as Deputy General Director of Kuwait’s Environment Public Authority and Chairman of the Kuwait Environmental Protection Society.
Dr. Al-Ahmad holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Kuwait University and earned his PhD in Environmental Engineering from Rostock University, Germany.
